Diablo 4 has revealed a free trial for the Spiritborn class, running from December 19, 2024, to January 3, 2025. Until now, the game featured five core classes, but this year marked a significant milestone with the addition of Spiritborn, the first new class introduced in Blizzard's ARPG in years.
The Spiritborn hails from the Nahantu jungle and wields a unique combat style, blending powerful combos with poisons and dark magic. This class debuted as part of Vessel of Hatred, Diablo 4's first expansion, which also added new enemies, bosses, and legendary loot. While the Spiritborn has been a standout feature of 2024, it has been limited to players who own the expansion. To give everyone a taste of the new class, Blizzard is offering this free trial.
During the trial, available on Battle.net, Xbox, and PlayStation, players without the Vessel of Hatred expansion can level up Spiritborn characters to level 25 and explore its versatility as one of the game’s most mobile classes. Progress made during the trial will carry over if players choose to purchase the expansion, letting them pick up exactly where they left off.

One of the Spiritborn’s most compelling features is the Spirit Guardians mechanic. Players can choose from four Guardian Spirits—centipede, eagle, gorilla, and jaguar—each with its own skill tree, enabling varied and personalized builds. For instance, the Eagle Evade build gained widespread attention early on for being one of the strongest Spiritborn setups.
Beyond the Spiritborn trial, Diablo 4 players can look forward to other end-of-year activities. From December 3 to 10, the test server previewed Season 7 content. Starting December 17, the Slay Ride to Hell event will challenge the community to hunt goblins for rewards. Concurrently, the Mother's Blessing event will offer increased XP and gold rewards, making the holiday season especially rewarding for demon slayers.
